TransRarau ‘The Treasures’ Road’ is said to be the third most beautiful alpine road in Romania. It crosses the Rarau massif and is one of the Romanian high altitude roads. The road (DJ175B) is 26 km long and links the villages Chiril (on the southern side) and Pojorata (on the northern side) crossing the Rarau Mountains, and climbs up to an elevation of 1.400 m above the sea level. Some years ago the road was full of holes and extremely narrow, but in 2014 the road was widened and resurfaced so the asphalt is just perfect. This tourist road facilitates the access to the Cabin, Rarau Skete, as well as the famous natural monument, ‘Lady’ Rocks’ (Pietrele Doamnei). The road is very curvy, so pay attention. Unfortunately there are no parking places along this road.

- elevation – 782 m
As you get higher, the landscape and views gets nicer and nicer, but better pay attention on the road because the cars coming from the other direction are not visible until the last moment.
